ALL THE LIFE MY DAYS ALLOW

This set of three pieces emerged with a combination of improvisation and composition, followed by a process of arrangement. Though they were worked on separately, they share some basic characteristics, such as modes, instrumentation, and melodies. Each has found its own path with certain features, textures, and phrases developing unexpectedly yet demanding to be heard. It seemed obvious at some point that they formed a suite in this order.

The titles have particular references, while hopefully speaking for themselves. All sounds were produced by plucked strings, breath in a tube, vibrating metal, or in bird and human throats. No keyboards or synthesizers were used in these recordings.
